THE OPPORTUNITY

The Client Service Representative, Group Benefits provides administrative support to the Practice Advisor and clients of Selectpath. In this position, you will be responsible for handling client and Advisor inquiries and requests related to Group Benefits products

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build relationships with all clients in order to assist with general plan administration questions/concerns, resolving issues and follow up
  • Plan, organize and facilitate the preparation and completion of client renewals
  • Plan, organize and facilitate new plan implementations, plan amendments, carrier changes, and AOR’s
  • Liaise with carriers to help solve problems in an effective and efficient manner
  • Assist with administrative functions such as Advisor client correspondence, file maintenance, regular database updates and maintenance
  • Prepare various ad hoc reports 
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Completion of a Group Benefits Associate designation

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • College Diploma with a concentration in business
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ administrative and customer service experience in the Group Benefits industry 
  • Advanced knowledge and application of MS suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Goldmine or other CRM systems is an asset
  • Customer service oriented, possess a professional and approachable demeanor and has the ability to handle conflicting priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize in a fast work environment

POSITION SUMMARY:

Benefits Associate provides support to the Advisor and client of Selectpath. In this position, you will be responsible for handling client and Advisor inquiries and requests related to group benefits products.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Time management and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Long periods on a computer and navigation around different software programs
  • Interacts with carriers, clients, employees, and advisors

  • Perform high-concentration tasks
  • Regular office hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday
  • Overtime hours may be required

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and analyze plan pricing, design, administration
  • Plan, organize and facilitate the preparation and completion of client renewals
  • Provide recommendations to the advisor
  • Negotiate pricing with benefit carrier as required
  • Plan, organize and facilitate market studies, new plan implementations, plan amendments, carrier changes, and AOR’s
  • Participate in finalist meetings as required
  • Management of large client files
  • Provide accurate and thorough answers to client requests and questions
  • Communicate with carriers through client issues as required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree or an acceptable combination of education and progressively responsible work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of benefits experience required
  • Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation preferred, or willing to obtain
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation preferred, or willing to obtain
  • Ability to take initiative and a pro-active approach to work
  • Advanced knowledge and application of MS suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Enthusiastic, respectful, high professional and uncompromised confidentiality
  • Ability to organize, prioritize in a fast work environment
  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset

Position Overview

The Employee Benefits Group Account Manager is responsible for acquiring new client accounts and the oversight and ongoing management of assigned client accounts. This position coordinates with support staff to facilitate the implementation of new or renewing accounts to ensure the highest level of service is met. Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with existing group clients, vendor contacts, and internal staff to facilitate the sale and retention of group insurance products.

  • Provide 24 Hour response time to customer calls and resolve problems within one business day where possible. Provide status update to client if unable to resolve issue fully within 1 business days.
  • Provide responses or resolution to client requests regarding enrollment issues including ordering ID cards, processing enrollment forms, checking enrollment status
  • Educate client and enrollees about their group’s benefit plans, coverage, copays, coinsurance and /or deductibles.
  • Research and resolve all claim and billing problems.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to articulate technical information in lay terms and good listening skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pension Associate and Educator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate, administer and execute pension related activities
  • Provide prompt and accurate answers to group savings questions
  • Provide quality service to clients and insurance carriers by handling administrative inquiries via telephone and e-mail
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients and insurance carriers
  • Prepare regular investment performance updates for each client. Including quarterly reports and annual reviews.
  • Negotiate fees with carriers as required
  • Prepare Request for Proposals to receive fee pricing and fund offerings from various insurance carriers, as well as reports on findings
  • Participate in finalist meetings as required
  • Work with discretion regarding sensitive and confidential information
  • Create, facilitate and coordinate employee presentations (both live and virtual) to educate plan members on the programs available and handle employee questions during and after presentations
  • Collect and analyze survey data in response to presentations to improve
  • Maintain accurate and complete client benefits databases, files and records, and update information as necessary
  • Act as backup for other Associates (both benefits and savings) and work as a part of the team
  • Identify gaps and/or liabilities in plan governance. Provide recommendations to the consultant as needed
  • Present a positive and professional image of the company to clients and insurance carriers
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-3 years of experience in client service role
  • Acceptable credit score required
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) required
  • Willingness to obtain Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office especially PowerPoint
  • High level of proficiency with Survey Monkey, Google Forms, and Microsoft Forms
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong adult education capabilities
  • Must have excellent time management, presentation, and diplomacy skills
